The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and the EU is funding the ESRT project (development capacity in implementing environment and society responsible tourism) that will spur tourism in Vietnam in the period of 2011-2015. Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) have helped build a new slogan 'Vibrant Ho Chi Minh City,' but is still working on a perfect logo.
With Vietnam becoming an attractive tourist spot in Asia, much attention is placed on projecting the country well to the World. Authorities want to project that the tourism of Vietnam is no longer 'hidden.' Tourism in Vietnam is therefore being introduced as an open, self-confident tourism, bearing distinct, endless and dynamic beauty.
In several ways, travellers to Vietnam will be made aware of all the entertainment present in the country, its well-maintained tourism infrastructure and ease of connectivity by public transport.

Vietnam has allotted a staggering US $42.5 billion across 10 years duration in order to build up Vietnam tourism infrastructure, services and the like.
As per the plan, Vietnam travel authorities have also decided to target India as a potential source of tourists to Vietnam. The plan has as its aim raising Vietnam's domestic tourists from 28 million last year to 48 million and foreign visitors from around 5 to 10 million.
Developing new products for the tourism department of Vietnam seems to be the major challenge, since up until now, Vietnam has depended heavily on what it has been endowed with naturally, which would be beaches, islands and the like.
